Geography & Climate: The isle of Elkenguard is a harsh, rocky, windswept isle with low moors, tundras in the north, and scrub grass everywhere else. Once connected to the main continent with Brynfarthing, the island is now even more treacherous for boats as the jagged rocks sometimes hide just below the surface of the waves – spelling doom for many captains and their crews. Add to that the thick fogs which seem to come & go on a whim around the shores and inland areas, and Elkenguard is a place of much danger and some mystery.
2 Copper History Lesson
The people there are much the same as their brothers to the south. The Elkenguardians are a strong, seafaring people with several coastal settlements and fishing communities. During the time of the plague, the nations separated from Midchantry by the sea were both blessed and cursed. While exposure was limited, so was there a delay in druidic response to curing the people. The result was a harsher impact on the populace in losses and less love for the druids.
The cities are decimated in Elkdenguard like anywhere else, but nature has not entirely reclaimed them. The Druidic presence here is lessened and thus the regrowth. There are rumored to be some very well organized pirates and warlords who call Elkenguard their home.
While the people of Elkenguard are known for being rough and strong, they do have a soft spot for the people of Brynfarthing, as they were once the same country. While they lack the organization on both sides of the sea, many people hope to one day rebuild relations and form a common government. There currently is no organized government in Elkenguard.
